Project Life: week 9/52

Here’s my week 9 spread for Project Life. I shared it on Instagram already and it seemed to be a popular one! If you want to get sneak peeks of my weeks, follow me there as I often share before I manage to blog the detail.

So as you can see I went all black and white this week. No kit. Very little journalling and lots of white space.IMG_6422

I’ve been embracing the iPhone apps this week: Over for the type, PicTapGo for the editing, and Afterglow for the frames. I love doing all the editing on my phone and then I can also print from my phone too. Makes for a much quicker process.IMG_6423

I love this week but I’m missing colour. So we’ll be returning to some brighter photos for week 10 I think. What do you think?

Project Life: week 8/52

For week 8 I used the Olive kit again but the pink and orange this time. We spent the weekend in Lake Tahoe with our friends who arrived from England. Emily had loads of fun getting to know her “auntie”; I think she misses her a lot now she’s gone! I’m not in love with this layout to be honest – I like the left, not so sure about the left. I may remove the lacy borders (they’re not stuck down for that very reason). What do you think? Anyway, I don’t have much time to think about it, week 9 is knocking on the door.

Project Life: week 7/52

So I know I said last week was my favourite page but I think my heart may have been stolen by this week.

I’ve switched kits this week to the beautiful Olive for this week. I used my Silhouette machine to get all fancy with circles and frames.

As you can see, we had a slight mishap at the end of the week! My husband has a fracture. Yeah. So the next few weeks will be interesting!

See you back here soon for week 8. I also have a cute infinity scarf project to share.

Project Life: week 6/52

I think the black and white page in this week, week 6, could be my favourite so far.

I love the journalling on the photo of the coffee cup, I want to use that idea again soon.

I was a little short on photos for this week so I took the opportunity to record our current schedule on the cards. The stickers on the photos are from Paper Source.

Week 7 coming soon. How is everyone else getting on? What do you do when you’re short on photos one week?

Project Life: week 5/52

I’ve completely caught up now but I’m behind in sharing the spreads here so there will be a little flurry of posts over the next couple of days.

These pages use the Turquoise core kit (as have all my pages so far) and some Paper Source labels. The heart label is from a Rifle Paper Co. sticker book (from Anthropologie).

Stay tuned for weeks 6 & 7 soon.

Project Life: weeks 3 & 4

I’m slowly getting back on target. I think part of what I love about this project is that you can keep it so simple. Just a few photos and cards and you’re done. You can pretty it up or keep it basic. In the interest of catching up, these layouts are on the pretty basic side. There are three pages for week 3 and just one for week 4.

My husband was on holiday skiing in week 4 so he gets a little photo of his own in the top right.

It’s hard to know how to incorporate some of the every day elements of his life too as a lot of the time it’s just me and Emily. Maybe I need to get him to snap some photos of him at work for me to include?

Thank you for the comments both here and on Instagram. I’m happy you’re enjoying my pages. Please feel free to leave links to your own pages in the comments as I’d love to see them.

project life: week 2/52

I’m a bit behind on my favourite project. We’re just back from a little trip to England to visit family & friends.

The in-laws didn’t know we were coming so we had fun plotting and planning the surprise.

Week 3 and 4 to follow soon when I’m done catching up. I’ve also got some pages of Emily’s baby album to do – I’ve ordered photos for her first 6 months so I’ve got some work on my hands. I imagine I’ll spend a lot of the time gazing at the images wondering where the time has gone. I can hardly remember what it was like to hold such a tiny little baby in my arms.

This is why documenting is so important. To jog our memories, capture moments and celebrate life.
