In a change to our advertised schedule, I’m crocheting this week. I’m away from home and I can’t imagine wet felting being something I can easily do in a hotel room!
Well so far I’m doing better than last time’s crochet attempt (when I was also on holiday, I spy a trend). I have rows and everything.

I’m following this series of lessons. Pip at Meet me at Mikes also has a beginner crochet series.
I know I have some fabulous crocheting followers – show me your favourite patterns, links and projects. And any other Fibre crafts you’re trying this month.
You can comment here, on Twitter (using the hashtag #52crafts52weeks), or upload it to Facebook or Flickr. Or you can add it via the link tool below.
Flashback: week 7 in year 1 was all about book-binding!

yay crochet! my favorite :) it’s so much fun once you get the hang of it
I still haven’t really got the hang of it but I’m determined!
As you know, crochet is my very favorite! My mom taught me to make granny squares when I was little, and everything else I know now is self-taught. I really like this site for tutorials and simple patterns: http://www.crochetspot.com/.
A few [bad] pics of the lace shawl I just finished blocking yesterday:

A starghan I made for my husband’s grandmother in Decembre:

I made this hackey sack for my nephew’s birthday last summer [sorry, crappy webcam pic]:

Then his younger siblings wanted some:

I don’t have many pics or patterns for the things I crochet, since I tend to just whip them up off the top of my head and either give them or use them straight away. Right now I’m working on an easy kufi for my husband.
I love all your projects Panya! Your shawl is beautiful :) I guess the problem with this project of mine is that I’m always skipping from one craft to another so I don’t have time to get stuck into one thing. Maybe I need to do a bit of crochet every week until I get the hang of it?
Crochet is wonderful, I love it. I did find it easier to crochet in the round when I was just beginning.
